Nostrification (Diploma Recognition)

If enrolling in a public school or university, you MUST have previous foreign school reports recognized by the Ministry of Education. This process is called Nostrifikacija.

Enrollment Checklist

General documents needed for school registration:

  • Original Birth Certificate (with apostille/translation)
  • Passport of the student and parents
  • Transcripts from previous schools (translated)
  • Proof of residence in Montenegro (List nepokretnosti or lease)
  • Medical certificate (Ljekarsko uvjerenje) from a local doctor
  • Completed application form from the specific school

Kindergarten (Vrtić)

"Vrtić" (Vrr-tee-ch) is for ages 1-5.

  • JPU (Public):Very cheap (~€40/mo), strictly Montenegrin, crowded but loving.
  • Private:€150-€400/mo. Often bilingual, smaller groups, flexible hours.
