Shopping Guide
From finding H&M to ordering electronics on Viber. Navigating the non-working Sunday.
The "Non-Working Sunday" (Neradna Nedjelja)
Since 2019, almost all shops are CLOSED on Sundays. This includes supermarkets, malls, and clothing stores.
Malls & Fashion
Podgorica is the shopping hub. Coastal towns generally have smaller boutiques or seasonal stores.
Big Fashion (ex-Delta City)
The main mall in Podgorica. Zara, H&M, Bershka, Pull&Bear, Tommy Hilfiger, Cineplexx (Cinema).
City Mall
Right next to Big Fashion (literally across the street). Smaller, has obscure brands, a large cosmetics store, and cafes.
TQ Plaza (Budva)
Small mall in the center of Budva. Very limited selection (mostly cosmetics, a few clothes shops) but vital for coastal residents.
Electronics & Tech
Tehnomax / Multicom
The "Best Buys" of Montenegro. Huge selection of TVs, washing machines, laptops, and cables.
iCentar / iStyle
Apple Authorized Resellers. Expect higher prices than the US/EU due to import duties.
Online Shopping Reality
Amazon does not really work here (shipping is €50+ and takes weeks). The local e-commerce scene is... unique.
Instagram Stores
A huge amount of commerce happens via Instagram DMs. You see a dress/gadget, you DM them, and they send it via courier (PostExpress) for ~€3. You pay cash on delivery.
Glovo / Wolt
Excellent for food, but also for pharmacy, flowers, and small groceries. They are very reliable in Podgorica, Budva, Tivat.
Buying Furniture
Furnishing an apartment?
- KIPS / Okov:Home improvement, bathroom tiles, tools, some furniture.
- Namos / Zećanka:Large furniture showrooms. Expect 2-4 week delivery times if not in stock.
- JYSK:The "Danish IKEA". Good for bedding, towels, and small furniture.
