Skiing & Winter Sports

Yes, you can ski in the morning and drink coffee by the sea in the afternoon (in March/April).

Kolašin (1450 & 1600)

The main ski resort. Modern lifts, new infrastructure, and connected slopes. ~1.5 hours from Podgorica via the new highway.

Žabljak (Durmitor)

More rustic and extreme due to Durmitor mountain. Iconic views but older infrastructure. Best for snowshoeing and nature lovers.

Water Sports

  • Kitesurfing
    Velika Plaža (Ulcinj) is a world-famous destination for kitesurfing due to consistent afternoon thermal winds.
  • Rafting
    Tara River Canyon (2nd deepest in the world). Best in May/June for adrenaline, July/August for families.
  • Kayaking
    Lake Skadar (watch birds/lilies) or the Bay of Kotor.
